Jamaica holds a dear place in my heart…

Family friends own and maintain this property and were so very gracious to host us for our last holiday season.

Yes, we were spoiled, the four of us, with our two boys and all.  What brave hosts they were to have us stay with them for two whole weeks.  Corporals and lieutenants were sworn in to set the table and clear the table and help around…  And we, Seb and I, literally got spoiled more than ever since we’ve had ours boys!  WOW!  Some real chill and relaxing times were had!

Having been to Villa Tara various times before, the memories run deep.  My family living far and wide apart and my sister being almost 9 years older than me, meant that we’ve had very few vacations together.  One of very few family location vacations was had here in Jamaica and it’s a place where great memories were made.

As a thank you for their outstanding hospitality and generosity, I wanted to document this long-term and challenging project my hostess worked so hard to build.  The dream and decades-long labour of love and physical work make a property like this so emotionally valuable for its owners…  and documenting it is so important!  As a portrait studio owner, an estate and its villa aren’t my usual subjects but I’ve gone and treated the subject matter all the same.  I wanted to create a tour of the property in images that represent the resilience and power of nature, all the while showcasing the villa’s presence in its setting.  The interior of the villa is not portrayed, because it is the outside for which we are here for.  The panoramic view.  The patio breakfast, lunch and dinners.  The sweet ocean and mountain breezes.  The vegetable gardens, the fruit trees, the tropical blooms and leaves.  The pool side rum punch.  The point of it all is to be outside, and so, this is what I’ve portrayed.

Thanks to Nesbeth’s My Dream for the background tune!

Real photographic prints are mounted to acid-free card stock and are bound at the spine so as to lay flat.
Silver gilding on the pages’ edges create a luxurious finish.
The cover displays a metallic print under an acrylic facade and the whole thing is wrapped and bound into a high-quality fabric.
Its substantial weight and feeling make it an outstanding coffee table book.
These are all custom options from one of my favourite providers…
The attention to quality and detail in these archival grade pieces make them so much fun to design.
I love creating custom works that are definitive conversation starters!
Check out the close-ups of this archival grade, heirloom album.

So, if I may throw it out there….

You don’t have to invite my whole family (although that would be awesome…  we’re only four and we’re very nice people) but if you need to document your paradise in a fabulous and unique way, contact me and let talk!

I offer custom photography services and custom high-end products to document & portray your paradise!

Take a closer look at the pages of this book:

The panoramas in this album are comprised of 15-18 photographs mounted, stitched and retouched in Photoshop, by me. They are now part of an ongoing 20 plus year love with panoramique views and montages. The original high resolution files are able to attain some 2 x 8 feet in photographic resolution…. which means it can print even bigger with other printing technologies! That makes for big wall art!

As always, thanks for reading!

Don’t be shy to reach out for inquiries!

The end.
